Lord of the Flies
Lord of the Flies is the perfect novel to use when examining elements of literature such as symbolism, characters, setting, and theme. This book is about a group of boys who get marooned on an island without adults. What started out as harmless fun soon turned to life and death.
Before reading the novel, we will examine some of the themes and ideas of the storyline by watching an episode of The Twilight Zone. Obviously you need to be in class to do more of this, but in case you are missing it and need the assignment that goes along with the episode, here it is:
